What Are the Most Common Problems in Aging Males

What are the most common problems in aging menI don’t consider myself old, although I’m not as young as I used to be. As I am increasing in age, I wonder what are the most common problems in aging males? Yep, that’s not me. ——->

It’s always a good idea to be proactive about one’s health. I also believe your mental health is just as important as your physical health. What I mean by that is if you tend to have a positive outlook on life, and are happy most of the time, that reduces stress on the body. Stress alone is one of the major factors of health problems.

As a society, if we could eliminate, stress, sugars, and iodized salt, overall, we would be much healthier. Wouldn’t it be great to have corporations make more food that is wholesome, healthy, good for the body, and affordable for everyone? Those sugary and chemical laden foods on the shelves of our grocery stores cause more harm than we know. Plus young kids become adicted to the sugar.

As a man or woman, I know we really don’t want to dwell on getting older and seeing our body deteriorate. Believe me, I’ve watched my parents, and it’s no picnic. It SUCKS to put it politely.

It’s good to know what could start happening, so you know the signs. This post is not meant to replace anything your doctor has recommended. Just to make that clear right now.

The most common problems or health risks in men

Prostate issues are one of the leading problems men face. Whether it’s an enlarged prostate or prostate cancer, the risk of these tow go up as a man’s age increases.

Cardiovascular Disease is in short, heart disease or hardening of the arteries. Cholesterol plaque over time blocks the arteries in the brain and heart. If plaque becomes unstable it can cause a clot which can cause a stroke or heart attack. This is one main reason to get your cholesterol checked at an early age and every five years after.

Lung Cancer spreads early and large usually before any symptoms. Tobacco smoke causes 90% of lung cancer.

Diabetes normally starts silently and over the years, blood sugar levels increase. This disease can affect many systems and parts of your body. Excess glucose acts like a poison to your body and is all but sweet! If you have excess thirst and frequent urination, go see your doctor.

Other ailments that aren’t as life threatening in the moment, but could lead to serious conditions are Erectile Dysfunction and Depression. Either of these can be triggered by underlying poor health conditions. If you see any signs of these, you may want to make an appointment with your doctor.

Ways for men to be more healthy

  • If you smoke, stop.
  • Get regular exercise. At least 30 minutes a day. I love my punching bag.
  • Eat more fruits, veggies and less saturated fats. (trans fats)
  • Do an occasional detox.
  • Cut out iodized salt. You can replace it with pink Himalayan salt, it’s actually good for you. Not sea salt either, with all the leaking radiation in the sea.
  • If you’re overweight, start a plan to loose weight by gradually changing your diet and starting an exercise plan.
  • Limit alcohol consumption, meaning don’t drink a 12 pack a night or an entire bottle. I’m not promoting you to drink, I’m saying alcohol and drug abuse can cause serious problems to the organs of your body.
  • See a physician at an early age to have your cholesterol checked and an overall physical.
  • Intermittent fasting works great for me.

Final Thoughts

Like I said before, consult your doctor before you take anyone’s advice.

We live in a “fast” world, where we tend not to take the time to “smell the roses.” My getaway is the bike. When I take it for a cruise, all my stress tends to melt away. Find something you love to do and do it on a regular basis. Get outside, nature is good for you. Get up and exercise. Start eating better until it becomes more of a habit. You don’t have to go on a diet, simply make daily choices that are better. Incorporate good into your life daily. Find reasons to smile. Live the fullest life you can and don’t let the world slip away without being the you that is waiting to be expressed. Like Wayne Dyer said. “Don’t die with your music still in you.”
