How to Get Tattoo Designs that You Can be Proud Of

Tattoo-Designs

Tattoos stays with you for the rest of your life and this is pretty much forever in other words. Read more on how this works in this link here: https://www.businessinsider.com/why-tattoos-stay-in-your-skin-2018-3. For many people including your grandma and your boss, this is reason enough not to get them.

But for other people (like you and me), this is what makes them an excellent companion throughout life. Your children will leave you at some point, your parents and pets will pass away, your lover can move to Sydney in the next week, your friends will skip town, and your house where you are living might be bulldozed because of new buildings.

But tattoos?

They will still be there through thick and thin until you go old. Until you succumb into sickness and your memories will not be as clear as day anymore. You can write and draw what’s important to you no matter how your brain will integrate and yes, your elderly care assistant will be able to look at something pretty when you go to the bath.

So, how do you get one that you won’t fill you with disappointment? After all, this is something that you really need to think about carefully as this very different from a haircut where you can start again when you messed up the first time. Without further ado, here are some tips that you may find helpful.

  1. Do Research!

Getting tattoos will require lots of preparation and research. The biggest mistake of everyone else is that they tend to get tattoos that are popular and they let the first artist that they came across with do the work. Most people can do tattoos but it doesn’t mean that they are qualified for the job.

What you can do is to look for a portfolio of the best artists in your local area. Some of them have a website where they showcase their best work and you can see if you like the results. Others will show you videos on how they do the process and you can get an idea on what to expect.

Make sure that the inked parts are readable, recognizable and clear. If you can find healed photos of the tattoo artists’ work, then this is a lot better. Don’t be too lazy and know everything before you get inked.

  1. Don’t Compare Prices

Getting tattoos is very different from comparing the prices of burgers in your local restaurants. The point here is that if some guy offers to do the work for $50, walk away or better yet, run as fast as you can. What you can do is to be ready in paying for high-quality craftsmanship that will make you proud.

You can pick a cheaper pair of shoes when you want to save but NEVER SKIMP on tattoos. The art will remain with you until you die so you should not expect to pay for less than $100 before the tip. If you add color to the mix, then expect that the price will be higher.

  1. Spend a Lot of Time Thinking about the Design

It goes without saying that you should never get something that you will regret for the rest of your life. If you are fond of Disney Princesses or anything that will get you killed in prison, then forget about it. You should also never consider the face or the name of your on-and-off girlfriend. These things can ruin your life and you will take them to grave.

Find the time to think about the designs that really mean something to you. They should look beautiful and they represent your personality. Better yet, talk to the artist to see if they can give life to your ideas. Most of them will draw your concepts first on paper and make them come to life with colors. The whole point is that you should be happy with what you are going to get.

  1. No to Drunk People

Sure, you and your long-time beau may have just broken up. You may go to the bar and drink until daylight. But getting inked while you are under the influence of alcohol may be one of the biggest mistakes of your life. This is something that is not even worth explaining and a good artist will not even provide do tattoos to you if they know that you are drunk.

  1. Don’t Come with the Whole Gang

Lots of people may think it cool to bring four of their friends with them and get the opinions of each one to see which designs they should get. Remember that it is your skin that the artist is going to ink and not your friends. Most of the time the opinions of four or five people clash against each other and you may end up with an ugly picture of their combined ideas.

You are a grown man or woman and just do it yourself. You will be responsible for what you are getting and there’s no one to blame if you mess up.

If you are nervous about the process, you can always bring a friend with you for company. But don’t bring the whole gang to the shop. The process is between you and the other person who’s going to put the ink on you. The opinion of your friend who does not have any tattoos on her really doesn’t matter.

  1. Ensure that this is Really What You Want

Tattoo You want

There’s no going back when the transfer is already on your body. If they are starting to draw on you, make sure that your mind is made up or you may be left with a half-drawn face of your favorite musician. The size and the placement should be according to your preferences. This is the time that you take an active role in the process and not just a passive observer.

You may listen to the artist but this is your body. Your choice should be followed and if you don’t like something halfway, tell it to the one who is inking you. They can make modifications so you can be more than satisfied with the results.
