Body-Augmenting Technologies Every Man Should Try

Body-Augmenting Technologies

These days, it’s becoming more common for people to consider the idea of augmenting their bodies through technology, although it’s still not a mainstream thing to do. Many men are experimenting with it to see if it enhances performance, productivity, and health.

Which body augmenting technologies do I personally find the most exciting? Let’s take a look.

Continuous biomarker tracking

Continuous biomarker tracking is a relatively new technology. Previously, it was reserved for patients who had access to prescription devices, but now more private companies are opening up the market and offering the technology to an increasing number of people. For example, five years ago, you could only get a continuous glucose monitor if you were a diabetic. However, now athletes and biohackers can also track their blood sugar levels over time and see which foods are spiking their blood sugar responses.

Continuous biomarker tracking is also coming to smart rings like the Oura ring. These have multiple sensors embedded in them, showing you how you’re recovering after the gym.

Audio augmentation and hearables

The rise of audio augmentation in hearables is also something that’s currently having a massive impact on the healthcare market and body augmentation fields. These days, you can find AI hearing aids with active acoustic filtering. These devices allow you to boost human speech in real time while cancelling out ambient drone. This means that you can have a conversation with somebody easily in a busy bar or while standing next to a waterfall. The AI technology tunes out the background noise and emphasises the foreground speech-related noise.

Another technology that’s coming to the forefront now is bone conduction audio. The idea here is to bypass the eardrum entirely and send vibrations through the cheekbones to the cochlea. These enable more layering of digital audio sounds seamlessly over natural, unimpeded hearing, enhancing the sense of hearing itself and taking advantage of all of the biological machinery that’s already in place.

Intelligent eyewear

Also, seeing the rise of more intelligent eyewear, the era of bulky smart glasses is over as the technology miniaturises and becomes more specific. For example, Warby Parker and Gentle Monster already have partnerships with Google and other technology companies to embed artificial intelligence into their products.

The goal is to provide users with audio AI and a heads-up display, enable more point-of-view media, and interact with multimodal AI assistance to enhance overall functionality. Users should be able to interact with their environments in real time and get the information they need sent directly to their smart glasses, so they don’t have to consult their phones.

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation

Finally, there is a rise in the deployment of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Rather than waiting for nerves and muscles to recover naturally, electronic muscle stimulation and neurostimulation technologies hijack the nervous system for improved pain management and recovery. For example, we’re seeing the use of more active compression systems that use pneumatic compression to stimulate the body’s natural muscle pump. This can improve lymphatic drainage and waste product removal after physical exertion.

Here’s How to Properly Declutter with Your Finances in Mind

Properly Declutter

There’s always a random corner of the house that starts feeling like a tiny museum of abandoned decisions, right? Like, just about every house has one of these. Usually, the drawer with three old phones, a charger that may or may not belong to anything, a bracelet with a broken clasp, an envelope of foreign coins, and a gift card that’s probably already expired.

Basically, most decluttering advice focuses on making the home feel calmer, which, yeah, fair enough. As you might have guessed, fewer piles can do wonders for the brain. But sometimes the bigger question isn’t just, “Do you want to keep this?” It’s, “Is this item doing anything for your life, or is it just sitting there while money feels tight?” It’s nice to plan for future finances, and a lot of people will go through their belongings with the intention of getting a bit of pocket change.

And of course, some clutter is just clutter, some of it is trash with better branding. But some of it could actually help pay for a bill, be put into savings, well, something nice.

Nope, Don’t Start with the Emotional Stuff

Starting with sentimental items is how decluttering turns into sitting on the floor for two hours reading old cards and making absolutely no progress. There’s a time for that, sure, but maybe not right out of the gate. And that’s the main mistake a lot of people tend to make here. So, start with the easy stuff instead. For example, something like the kitchen gadget that had an exciting week. (like those trendy kitchen gadgets on TikTok that go out of fashion weeks later), Or the coat that doesn’t fit and never really did.

Maybe the baby gear is packed away “just in case,” even though that case is looking less and less realistic. But you get the point: get rid of the useful stuff that can be sold, donated, or at least can be put into the trash (or maybe recycled).

Some Items Get a Bit More Complicated

Why? Well, is it sentimental or not? Like some clothes could be labeled that, some home decor items could be labeled that, and the same goes especially for jewelry. Actually, especially when it comes to jewelry here. Getting specific here, jewelry is where people start negotiating with themselves.

People will put these in the junk drawer or put them somewhere where they’re never used, maybe even broken, but there can be hesitation. Sometimes it’s due to emotional weight, sometimes it might be broken beyond all repair, maybe it’s a piece you don’t like, but feel like you’re supposed to keep. But just keep in mind here, learning and knowing when to sell gold can really help you make a much better decision, a practical decision.

Some Things are Worth More than They Look

The stuff with actual resale value isn’t always the obvious pile, at least nowadays. Like, take a look at eBay, nearly everything has value (or maybe it’s perceived value). While maybe some old clothes might not bring in much (unless they’re not fast fashion and they’re vintage or from a certain era), a decent camera, stroller, designer wallet, musical instrument, power tool, or piece of furniture could be worth checking before it gets donated out of frustration. Again, just check eBay, and you might have a general idea.

Three things to do in Vegas which isn’t at the Casino

Things to do in Vegas

Have you got a trip planned to Vegas and are starting to think about things to do outside of being in the casino? Vegas is an incredible place to visit, some say the adult version of Disneyland, and in many cases we agree – you can do so much!

While the casinos are undeniably a huge part of the city’s identity, there is actually far more to Vegas than slot machines and poker tables. In recent years, Las Vegas has become a destination packed with world-class entertainment, incredible food experiences and unforgettable attractions that go far beyond the gaming floor. You can do a helicopter tour, you can visit the desert, you can visit a shooting range or you could have a go on the wheel (there is a bottomless option).

To help get you ready for your trip, here are three things to do in Vegas which aren’t at a casino. We hope you have the best time on your holiday.

Head to a shooting range in Vegas

One of the more unique experiences you can try in Las Vegas is visiting a shooting range. While it may not be something you would necessarily do at home, it has become an incredibly popular activity for tourists looking to try something different during their trip. Across the city, there are several ranges where you can book and try out different types of guns, from pistols and rifles to snipers. It’s done in a very safe and controlled environment and they all have very positive reviews on the experience visitors get. Some get very popular so our advice would be to book in advance so you don’t miss out.

Helicopter tour of the Vegas strip

If you really want to experience Las Vegas in an unforgettable way, a helicopter tour over the strip is hard to beat. Seeing Vegas from above at night, with all the lights stretching across the skyline, is an incredible experience and gives you a completely different perspective of Vegas. Plus, being in a helicopter is often a first for a lot of people and it’s not as expensive as you may think – some would say it’s a bargain.

Visit one of the shows in Vegas

If there is one thing that Vegas is known for other than going to the casino, that’s their shows. Undeniably, their shows are some of the best in the world, with such a huge range to choose from. You can enjoy comedy, live music, magic acts or large-scale productions, there is truly something for everyone. Some of the best musicians in the world perform in Vegas, so make sure you look into who’s got a residence before you visit.

Have you been to Vegas before and if so, what’s your favourite thing you have done there? Have you ever tried one of the activities we mentioned above? Is there an activity that you think is so much fun, that it deserves a mention? Let us know in the comment box below. We look forward to hearing from you.
